Yorkshire Science Issue 1 – July 2006

Welcome to the first edition of the Yorkshire Science E-zine.

We shall be keeping you informed of our work, telling you about innovation activity in the Yorkshire region, and highlighting case studies of businesses that have benefited from successful collaboration and knowledge transfer.

This issue includes a foreword from our newly appointed chair, Richard Gregory, and as we are coming to the end of our first year, the Director of Yorkshire Science, Dr Trevor Gregory, will recap on the work we have done so far and our goals for the future.

Foreword from Richard Gregory OBE
Chair of Yorkshire Science
Innovation cultures can be inspiring and liberating. The buzz and creativity is often so strong you can even sense it in the very fabric of the workspaces. I felt this recently walking through Gripple in Sheffield with Trevor Gregory, it reminded me of many creative/ media companies I have known over the years.
